Overview
The KCPR Social Media Manager leads the social media presence of KCPR 91.3FM, overseeing the various platforms that are audience-facing. This position manages all content for the station and organizes how and when to deliver said content onto the respective platforms. The Social Media Manager reports to the Marketing Director and works directly with the Content, Art, News, Podcast, Photo, and Production Directors in the station.
Qualifications
- Exceptional organizational skills and time management
- Experience with social media platforms, especially Instagram
- A good eye for design and branding to ensure KCPR’s visual image is consistent and technically
- Ability to work on a flexible schedule to deliver posts and content in a timely manner
- (preferred) Experience using design and video editing software, including the Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, Canva, etc, if needed to create different content for socials
- (preferred) Copywriting skills, specifically being able to use a consistent voice across KCPR’s social media platforms
Responsibilities
- Station-wide Collaboration: Coordinate with the Marketing, Content, Art, News, Podcast, Photo, and Production Directors to ensure a variety of content is being shared on social media platforms that accurately represents KCPR’s image and voice
- Leadership: Lead the social media team to create new content, increase engagement, and encourage new ideas and projects
- Social Media and Audience Awareness: Stay up to date with the latest trends and platforms to maximize engagement with the station’s audience and greater community in mind
- Engagement and Analytics: Monitor analytics to maintain and increase engagement
- Meet with MMG Social Media Director, Sports Social Media Manager, and faculty advisor to develop social media strategies.
