KCPR Pledge Drive Manager

This position is a great opportunity to become a part of Cal Poly’s legendary and award-winning radio station; KCPR 91.3 FM.

Overview: For over 58 years KCPR radio has served as one of the constants for music and culture for both Cal Poly and San Luis Obispo while also providing learning opportunities for hundreds of students every year from members of the marketing team to on-air personalities. The KCPR Pledge Drive Manager’s responsibility is to oversee the annual Spring Pledge Drive which brings in donations of over $40,000 through various means and helps provide the funding to keep the station operating.

You will work directly with the current Pledge Drive Manager during the 2027 Pledge Drive to learn how to execute the position for the 2028 Pledge Drive. Throughout the year, you will have opportunities to lead in planning and execution for different aspects of donor communication, event planning, and marketing.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a detailed plan months in advance of the launch of the pledge drive.
  • Work with the KCPR Adviser, MMG General Manager, KCPR managers and staff members as well as members of Cal Poly Advancement to execute the pledge drive.
  • Oversee numerous in person events, contests, social media campaigns, and donor communication related to the pledge drive.
  • Work with vendors to ensure that pledge drive merchandise is completed on-time, while ensuring that merchandise is shipped to donors by the end of the summer.

  • Candidate must be self-motivated, organized, personable, and able to communicate with a variety of managers and stake-holders
  • Strong organizational skills and work ethic
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Ability to collaborate with numerous managers and fellow staff members
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Prior experience in fund-raising will be given favorable consideration but is not necessary for employment

Compensation:

  • Monthly salary equivalent to around 12 hours per month
  • Bonuses will be made available upon achievement of fiscal goals related to the pledge drive
