Cohort Training Program

Starting winter quarter, Mustang News will have a cohort training program. This program aims to better transition and train people to be a member of Mustang Media Group. This one-quarter training program will help new members understand MMG and expose you to different parts of the organization.

WHAT THEY WILL DO: Each member of the program will rotate biweekly through different teams in the organization, such as the MN News Team, MNTV, Social Media, etc. This will give you the opportunity to explore MMG and will prepare you to apply for a permanent position. Some examples of responsibilities may include:

  • Pitching and finding stories
  • Working on setting up cameras for video packages
  • Editing a social media post
  • Shadowing reporters on interviews

All candidates chosen will be required to attend weekly Sunday meetings during Winter Quarter from 5:10-6:00pm. All applicants will be contacted regardless of selection. Selected applicants will be sent information for an interview, during the week of November 9. Candidates chosen for the program will be required to attend an orientation training November 16 from 4:10pm-5:20pm.
