Marketing Analytics and Data Collection Coordinator

*Applicant must be a sophomore or higher in the 2022-2023 school year*

The Mustang Media Group Marketing and PR team is looking for a data-driven marketing analyst to join the team for the 2022-23 school year. The marketing team is responsible for planning on-campus events to distribute new issues and special editions and overall expand awareness of Mustang Media Group to Cal Poly and the greater San Luis Obispo community. The Head of Marketing Analytics will be responsible for collecting and interpreting data following each in-person event and online marketing tactic the team carries out. This is a brand new position in the marketing team and during times when there are no events to reflect upon, data on the marketing team’s ROI can be reviewed and reported on. 

The main goal of adding this position is to better understand how mustang news can reroute its resources to be more effective and ensure we are using the right tactics to reach our target audience. Well-rounded knowledge of data interpretation and marketing is essential to succeed in this position and be a contributing member of the marketing team. You don’t have to be an expert — we’re looking for an individual who wants to learn and develop their data analysis skills with the marketing team.

We are looking for a marketing analytics coordinator who can do the following:

  • Calculate and interpret statistics
  • Organize and Interpret Excel and Form Data 
  • Apply Audience data to optimize marketing resources and plans 

Time commitment: 6 hours/week (at most).

Students of all majors are welcome to apply. Must be a sophomore or above and have some background in data analysis as it relates to marketing.
